Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas on Monday said he is very happy to be with Spain's Real Madrid, after he was near to leave the team just some weeks ago, local media reported.
"Things are going well. I am very happy because people value my work and it is an honor to be part of this club," Navas was quoted by local media on Monday.
Navas was close to moving English Premier League club Manchester United, but the transfer was not successful despite the interest of Real Madrid in replacing the Costa Rican goalkeeper with David De Gea, currently in the English club.
It seems this situation did not make any difference in Navas' good opinion of Real Madrid. Even more, the Costa Rican goalkeeper is close to breaking the 370-minute non-goal streak of the Spanish team. Navas is just at 10 minutes of breaking Spanish Iker Casillas' record. He might achieve this next Wednesday in the match against Athletic de Bilbao.
"When I was a kid my dream was to be here, I am pleased to be part of Real Madrid's history. Hard work has rewards and is the path that leads us to achieve great things," said Navas. Endit
