CPC officials urged to meet "strict", "earnest" requirements

Xinhua, September 21, 2015 Adjust font size:

Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Liu Yunshan urged local officials to improve their professional and personal lives.

Liu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at a meeting on the "three stricts and three earnests" attended by local cadres on Monday.

In mid September, President Xi Jinping presided over a study session and urged CPC cadres and members to lead by example.

Xi told cadres to keep the "three stricts and three earnests" in mind, to be truthful and to be committed to correcting any misconduct.

The "three stricts and three earnests" refer to strict morals, power and discipline, and earnest decisions, business and behavior.

Liu also urged the cadres to follow positive examples, draw lessons from negative cases, and strictly deal with cases that go against the requirements.

Lauding criticism and self-criticism, Liu called on county-level governments to handle malpractice by grassroots-level officials to solve people's problems.

He reiterated that all Party committees should promote education on the requirements, increase supervision, and ensure accountability to guarantee that reform advances and economic development is promoted. Endi
