The first president of Republic Nepal Ram Baran Yadav will formally announce the promulgation of post-war national charter at 5:00 p.m..

The government has announced public holiday for Sunday and Monday to celebrate the historic moment. Leaders have urged the general people to welcome the new constitution by lighting candles.

Meanwhile, life in different parts of Nepal including capital has been crippled Sunday owing to the general strike called by the dissident parties.

The strike has little effect in the valley life as private vehicles are on full operation. However, all the market places and industries have remained closed outside Kathmandu.
