French stock market index down 2.56 pct on Friday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 dropped by 2.56 percent to close at 4,535.85 points on Friday, down 119.29 points.

Disappointed by the Federal Reserve's decision not to raise its benchmark interest rate, the CAC 40 of Paris closed lower on Friday with all of the 40 selected companies experiencing decrease.

The three companies whose stocks dropped most on Friday were BNP Paribas, down 4.80 percent, AXA, down 4.73 percent, and ArcelorMittal, down 4.62 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 gained an advance of 0.20 percent to close at 4,655.14 points, up 9.30 points. Endit
