France, South Korea vow to boost ties

Xinhua, September 18, 2015 Adjust font size:

French President Francois Hollande and visiting South Korean Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn vowed to further cement bilateral cooperation in a bid to address global economic and political challenges, the French presidency said on Friday.

In a press release issued by his office, Hollande confirmed the French authorities' willingness to participate in the Franco-Korean global partnership.

Both leaders discussed ways to diversify their economic links by bolstering investments, improving industrial partnerships, and promoting innovation.

In addition, they pledged to improve academic and scientific cooperation by facilitating the circulation of students from both countries.

At the invitation his South Korean counterpart Park Geun-hye, the French head of state will pay a visit to Seoul in November, the statement added.

Later on Friday, festivities to celebrate France-Korea Year 2015-2016 were to start with a dance show and traditional Korean music.

Many other cultural, economic, scientific and even gastronomic events are scheduled here and in Seoul to mark the 130th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations, according to the Elysee. Endit
