Dutch police arrest man who locks himself up in toilet in train

Xinhua, September 18, 2015 Adjust font size:

Passengers in a high speed train of the international high-speed train operator Thalys were evacuated Friday morning at Holland's Rotterdam Central Station after a suspicious man locked himself up in the toilet.

According to the police, the man was detained after two hours when a swat team backed by a dog moved into the station. He was in black trousers and a black sweater.

The man jumped on the train at its departure. He locked himself in the toilet and wouldn't come out although a police negotiator tried to persuade him to get off the train. Police said the man was unarmed, but out of precaution part of Rotterdam Central Station was cleared.

The train was en route from Amsterdam to Paris. Thalys announced on Twitter that security forces had everything under control and there was no risk for passengers. Endi
