Under Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs appointed in HK

The Chief Executive's Office of Hong Kong announced on Friday that Ronald Chan Ngok-pang has been appointed as Under Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs.

The Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs recommended the appointment, which was approved by the Appointment Committee. Chan will assume office on Sept. 21.

Aged 33, Chan holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Policy and a Master of Arts Degree in Political and Comparative Sociology from Stanford University.

He served as an elected member of the Southern District Council in 2008-2010. From 2010 to June 2012, he was special assistant to the Chief Executive's Office. He was appointed as political assistant to the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs in September 2012. Endi
