A Chinese science exhibition opened in the headquarters of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) here on Wednesday.

This event displays China's innovation achievements in the fields of high-speed railway, aerospace, information and communications technology, electrics and electronics, agriculture, and the development of high-tech zones.

The exhibition is open to public until Friday. More than 60 projects from 26 Chinese exhibitors -- companies, research institutes and universities -- participated in the event, including Huawei Technologies, Haier, and Torch High-Technology Industry Development Center.

The exhibition was inaugurated jointly by Chinese Minister of Science and Technology Wan Gang and Ecuadoran Vice President Jorge Glas.

Ecuador will receive a 4G laboratory provided by China's Datang Telecom, to be installed at the Yachay City of Knowledge, Ecuador's first planned city and research center.

Jose Andrade, director of Yachay Tech University, said that it is an opportunity for Ecuador to learn from China. Endi
