China-Russia expo attracts 29 countries, regions

Businessmen from 29 countries and regions will attend the second China-Russia Exposition to be held from Oct. 12 to 16 in Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang Province, said the organizing committee on Tuesday.

Companies and businessmen from countries including Russia, Kazakstan, Germany, Japan, India, the Republic of Korea have confirmed their participation.

The event, focused on trade and economic cooperation, has attracted representatives of over 50 Russian companies in food and agriculture, chemicals, aviation and aerospace, banking and finance, and heavy industry and metallurgy.

Activities including a seminar on the integration of the Belt and Road initiative and the Eurasian Economic Union will be held during the expo, which will feature participation from more than 20 Chinese provinces or municipalities.

The first China-Russia Expo ended last July in Harbin with contracts worth 3.15 billion U.S. dollars signed. The third expo will be held in Russia.

The event's predecessor was the China Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair, first held in 1990. Endi
