French stock market index down 0.67 pct on Monday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 slightly dropped by 0.67 percent to close at 4,518.15 points on Monday, down 30.57 points.

Investors staying cautious before the meeting of the central bank of the United States on the monetary policy, the CAC 40 of Paris closed slightly lower on Monday with 34 of the 40 selected companies experiencing decrease, while Lafargeholcim Ltd stayed the same as previous trading day.

The three companies whose stocks dropped most on Monday were ArcelorMittal and Credit Agricole, both down 2.95 percent, and Airbus Group, down 1.91 percent.

The top three gainers on Monday were Alcatel-Lucent, up 2.04 percent, Veolia Environnement, up 0.93 percent, and Total, up 0.19 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 dropped by 1.04 percent to close at 4,548.72 points, down 47.81 points. Endit
