China to better record volunteer services

Xinhua, September 14, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Ministry of Civil Affairs (MCA) will establish a volunteer-services database for governments and volunteer organizations, it said on Monday.

The database will include information on volunteer services, training, awards and volunteer credentials, as well as feedback and complaints on services.

The MCA also issued guidelines for data collection, the functions and sharing of data, and information security.

The database will be available to registered and non-registered NGOs.

China had over 65 million volunteers across 129,000 welfare organizations, according to 2014 statistics from the MCA. Endit
