Philippine Trade chief resigns

Xinhua, September 12, 2015 Adjust font size:

Philippine President Benigno S. Aquino III's trade chief has resigned, a senior government official said on Saturday.

Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said in a statement that Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. received the resignation letter from Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Gregory Domingo and "that is under consideration."

"Secretary Ochoa is awaiting word from the president regarding this matter," he added.

Coloma did not mention why Domingo has quit from his post.

Domingo's resignation came two months before the country's hosting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Leaders' Meeting on Nov. 18-19. Endi
