The 15th China Wuqiao International Circus Festival (CWICF) will open its curtains on September 29 in the northern city of Shijiazhuang.
About 20 countries and regions will participate in the festival, according to a press conference held by the CWICF on Tuesday.
The festival, including competitions and stage performances, will feature various techniques including trapeze and street dancing.
The closing ceremony will be held on October 7, but the gala show will last until October 11.
Known as the "oriental acrobatic arena", the event first debuted in 1987 and has been held every other year since.
The CWICF is named after the birthplace of acrobatics, Wuqiao County in Hebei Province, and is considered one of the three best known acrobatic competitions in the world. Similar competitions include the Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival in Monaco and the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain (the World Festival of the Circus of Tomorrow) in France. Endit
