Xinhua, September 8, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Uganda Cricket Association has announced that their national U-19 team will host their Kenyan counterparts in international build-up matches scheduled for Sept. 9-13.

Justine Ligyalingi, the Association's Chief Executive Officer told Xinhua on Tuesday that the team will use the matches to prepare for the forthcoming International Cricket Council (ICC) Under 19 World Cup qualifiers slated for Oct. 14-23 in Malaysia.

"These games will help our coaches prepare the team better ahead of the qualifiers," said Ligyalingi.

Head coach Henry Okecho told Xinhua that his 18 players are responding well to the training at the Lugogo Oval in the capital Kampala.

"We shall pick the final 14 after the build-up matches," he said.

Nepal, Papua New Guinea, the United States, Ireland and Uganda will compete for one slot to qualify for the ICC Youth World Cup slated for India next year. Endi
