The first batch of refugees coming by train from Hungary via Austria arrived at Munich central station at noon time on Saturday, with more expected to come later in the day.

The special train drove in at about 13:30 local time and stopped at the No. 27 platform. Meanwhile, another train of German railway company Deutsche Bahn had already waited at the opposite platform. (Germany-Refugees)

KABUL -- Militancy and violent incidents in Afghanistan had left 13 people dead and 14 others injured in the country's northern Balkh and eastern Logar provinces on Saturday as a meeting of donor nations was underway in the capital city Kabul, officials said.

BUDAPEST -- About 4,500 refugees had been transported to the Austrian border by bus overnight, where they crossed over to the Austrian side on foot, a senior Hungarian government official said Saturday.

Karoly Kontrat, state secretary at the Ministry of the Interior, told a Saturday morning news conference that many walked the final kilometers in pouring rain because nearly 100 buses were backed up on the motorway. (Hungary-Refugees)

DAMASCUS -- Suspected Druze militants killed six Syrian security forces in the predominantly-Druze province of Swaida on Saturday, just a day after deadly bombings killed a Druze spiritual leader antagonist to the Syrian regime, a monitor group reported.

While further details surrounding the incident are still forthcoming, activists reported a tense situation in Swaida after twin bombings a day earlier in the Druze city killed 33 people, including Sheikh Wahid al-Balous, a Druze spiritual leader and outspoken critic of the Syrian regime.
