Clash claims 15 lives in eastern Afghanistan

At total of 14 militants and a soldier were killed in a clash that erupted in Chapadara district of the eastern Afghan province of Kunar on Saturday, the provincial government said in a statement sent to media outlets.

"One soldier and 14 Taliban rebels have been killed as clash erupted in Chapa district today," the statement said.

The militants after suffering casualties fled away and the government forces are chasing the insurgents, it added.

Taliban militants who are active in parts of Kunar province are yet to make comment. Endi
