Newspaper hails Chinese heroism in counter-Japanese war

Xinhua, September 5, 2015 Adjust font size:

The People's Daily, the flagship newspaper of the Communist Party of China, will run a commentary on Saturday hailing the spirit of Chinese heroes in the fight against Japanese aggressors.

China on Thursday put on a massive military parade to mark the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II and what it calls the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.

The newspaper commentary says that thousands of Chinese stood up in the war to save the nation from peril and their heroism will always be remembered in the history.

The article goes on and says that whoever dedicated themselves in fighting the invaders, no matter at the frontline or backstage battlefields, and no matter as combatants or as supportive forces, are all heroes of the nation.

The article calls for efforts to carry forward the war heroes' patriotic, valorous and unyielding spirit to safeguard peace at current time. Endi
