BiH prepares for possible influx of refugees: expert

Xinhua, September 2, 2015 Adjust font size:

Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) security and intelligence agencies have made appropriate preparations for possible influx of refugees, said Denis Hadzovic, Director of the Center for Security Studies (CSS), a Sarajevo policy institute, on Wednesday.

BiH is well aware of the risk of possible pressure on social and economic system due to the experiences of Serbia and Macedonia, said Hadzovic and quoted by Fena, the Federal News Agency.

He also warned of possibility of elements of terrorist organizations within the influx of refugees.

The refugees will not be a greater threat to BiH than in other countries, because they want to go to wealthier EU countries, such as Germany, according to Hadzovic.

After Hungary has built fences along the border with Serbia, the route of refugees is hard to predict, he said, adding it will take more time for the refugees to reach their destinations via BiH. Endit
