3 policemen killed as militants attack police vehicle in NW Pakistan

At least three policemen were killed and six others injured when some unknown militants attacked their vehicle in Pakistan's northwest Peshawar city on Wednesday morning, officials said.

Senior Superintendent Police Mian Saeed said that the heavily armed militants opened fire at the police vehicle during a search operation in Urmarh area of Peshawar, the capital city of the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Saeed said that the policemen killed one militant and injured several others in retaliation.

The injured policemen were shifted to a nearby hospital.
