China's top political advisory body held a meeting on Tuesday to solicit advice and suggestions to promote the development of border economic cooperation zones.

Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), hosted the meeting and delivered a keynote speech.

CPPCC members suggested at the meeting that China should make good use of border ports, create new supervision models for border trade to facilitate customs clearance, and boost cross-border e-commerce.

At the meeting, the members also touched upon topics including diplomatic policy, cross-border cultural cooperation and people-to-people communication. Endi
