Xinhua, September 1, 2015 Adjust font size:

With the absence of three of its main figures, Uruguay will play the FIBA (International Basketball Federation) 2015 Americas Championship currently played in Mexico City.

Uruguay will try to improve the seventh place achieved in 2013.

Esteban Batista, Jason Granger and Leandro Garcia Morales are the three Uruguayan players that will be absent from the national team. Batista is playing in China and his club did not allow him to travel, while Granger is injured and Garcia Morales decided to skip the tournament due to personal matters.

Despite the absences, Uruguay has Bruno Fitipaldo, who scored 34 points in a friendly match on Aug. 17 against Argentina, who won 78-72.
