In a press release issued here by his spokesman Stephane Dujarric, the secretary-general said he learned "with great sadness the sudden passing" of Lieutenant General Jose Luiz Jaborandy, Jr., in Miami, the U.S. stae of Florida, Sunday while on a trip to Brazil, where he was born.
