Somali police said Sunday they arrested several suspects linked to Al-Shabaab militants and seized explosives and weapons in an operation in a town in the country's southern region.

The arrested are believed to have links with the militants as they were planning to launch terror attacks in the newly liberated town of Bardere in Gedo region, according to senior police officer Abdiqani Shu'ayb in the town. (Somali-Al Shabaab-Militants)

STOCKHOLM -- Three suspects surrendered to police in the Swedish capital on Sunday after a shooting that left one dead and three people injured.

Shots were fired on a public square in the Stockholm suburb of Rinkeby in what police told daily newspaper Dagens Nyheter was the escalation of a family quarrel. (Sweden-Shooting-Suspects)

AMMAN -- Jordan on Sunday reported a new case of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) coronavirus infection that has been spreading throughout the region, the state-run Petra news agency said.

The case for a man in his late 50s was the third reported in Jordan in less than a week, the Mohammad Abdullat, head of communicable diseases department at the Health Ministry , said in a statement on Sunday. (Jordan-MERS-Infection)

CARACAS -- Venezuelan Foreign Affairs Minister Delcy Rodriguez on Monday urged the United States to stop interfering in Venezuela's temporary closure of its border with Colombia.
