A total of 24 people were killed and 29 others wounded on Saturday in bomb attacks and clashes with Islamic State (IS) militants in Iraq's western province of Anbar, a provincial security source said.
In one attack, a suicide bomber detonated his explosive-laden military vehicle near the security forces and allied militias, known as Hashd Shaabi, in east of the IS-held city of Fallujah, some 50 km west of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, leaving six security members killed and nine others wounded, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. ANKARA -- Five people were killed and 24 others injured in three attacks by PKK members on Turkish police in southeastern Turkey, local government and media reports said Saturday.
A statement from the Tunceli Governor's Office said a group of fighters from the Kurdish Workers' Party, or PKK, attacked the Nazimiye Police Department building and Nazimiye District Governor's Office building with long-barrel guns and rockets on Friday night. (Turkey-Attack-PKK)

KHARTOUM -- South Sudanese government on Saturday accused the rebels of violating a cease-fire declared by rebel leader Riek Machar late Friday and attacking the capital city of the oil-producing Upper Nile State.
"The rebels on Friday attacked our positions in Malakal, but we have repulsed them. On Saturday they attacked the city again," Michael Makuei, government spokesman, told Xinhua over phone from Juba Saturday.

ANKARA -- Turkish fighters on Friday night took part in the U.S.-led coalition air strikes against targets of the Islamic State (IS) militant group for the first time, according to a written statement from the Turkish Foreign Ministry on Saturday.

LAGOS -- A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Dornier-228 aircraft crashed into a house at Ribadu military cantonment in northern Nigeria on Saturday, leaving seven people dead, an official told Xinhua.
Spokesperson for the Air force, who confirmed the incident, Air Commodore Dele Alonge said the aircraft was Abuja, Nigeria's capital city bound and had taken off from the Kaduna military airfield before the mishap. (Nigeria-Air Crash) Endi
