Russia's Kuchina wins women's high jump

Russian Maria Kuchina cleared 2.01 meters to win the women's high jump gold medal at the world athletics championships here on Saturday.

Croatian Blanka Vlasic, who had failed once at 1.92m, had to settle for silver in 2.01.

Russian Anna Chicherova, who had failed at 1.97m and 2.01m, flew over 2.01 in her second attempt to take bronze. Endi
