Coutinho, Rafinha get Brazil call-up

Xinhua, August 29, 2015 Adjust font size:

Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho has been called up by Brazil coach Dunga for friendlies against Costa Rica and the USA, the country's football federation (CBF) said on Friday.

Coutinho, a surprise absentee from Brazil's original squad announced earlier this month, will be joined by Barcelona midfielder Rafinha, who was also added by Dunga on Friday.

The pair will replace injured Chelsea duo Oscar and Ramires.

Brazil will meet Costa Rica in New Jersey on September 5 and the USA in Foxborough, Massachusetts, three days later.

The fixtures will be Brazil's first since their Copa America quarterfinal defeat to Paraguay on penalties in June. Endi
