French stock market index up 3.49 pct on Thursday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 rebounded strongly by 3.49 percent to close at 4,658.18 points on Thursday, up 157.13 points.

With the United States publishing its positive second quarter GDP growth rate, the CAC 40 of Paris closed higher on Thursday with 39 of the 40 selected companies gaining advance, leaving Pernod Ricard the only company whose stock dropped, by 1.72 percent.

The top three gainers on Thursday were Total, up 6.56 percent, ArcelorMittal, up 6.02 percent, and Accor, up 5.54 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 dropped by 1.40 percent to close at 4,501.05 points on Wednesday, down 63.81 points. Endit
