Afghan Reconstruction Trust Fund will receive 20 million crowns (about 0.85 million U.S. dollars) and another 20 million will be sent to Afghan security forces.

The Afghan Reconstruction Trust Fund (ARTF) is administered by the World Bank. It pays for the development programmes in the spheres of education, health, agriculture, rural development, infrastructure and good governance.

These are the spheres in which the Czech Republic has some expertise and where there is also an interest of Czech companies in direct participation in the projects, and the government decided to send financial aid to ARTF this year for this reason, said Czech Foreign Ministry.

In 2012, Czech government approved the annual financial help for Afghanistan as a replacement for the Czech Provincial Reconstruction Team in the Logar province. Under the annual help plan, the government only need to decide on the use of the money for this year.

The Czech Republic will be spending 20 million crowns on Afghanistan's development needs annually in 2014-2017, and another 20 million on the support for its national security in 2015-2017. (1 U. S. dollar = 23.564 crowns) Endit
