Red Cross in BiH ready to respond to refugees

The Red Cross Society of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) said on Wednesday it was ready to respond to refugees in the event they entered the Balkan country.

The BiH Red Cross said in a statement it would cooperate with the BiH government as well as Red Cross Societies in Serbia, Croatia, and Montenegro to deal with possible flow of refugees into BiH.

As Hungary started building a wall on its border with Serbia to prevent refugees from crossing over, experts say the routes of refugees could change course. One possible route for the refugees heading for the European Union is via BiH and Croatia.

Earlier this week, BiH Foreign Minister Igor Crnadak said the government would take action if refugees were to reach the country. Endit
