Shakhtar Donetsk advances to UEFA Champions League group stage

Ukraine's Shakhtar Donetsk advanced to the group stage of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night, despite drawing 2-2 with Rapid Vienna in the second leg of the play-off.

The Ukrainian side took an early lead just 10 minutes into the game at Lvov Arena stadium after midfielder Marlos' shot found the top left corner of the Rapid's net.

However, three minutes later the Austrian side hit the equalizer with a header by Louis Schaub and in the 22nd minute the guests took the lead after Steffen Hoffman fired a free kick from the edge of the box.

In the dying minutes of the first half, Olexandr Gladkiy has restored parity in the game that gave the final advantage to the team from Donetsk, which 1-0 victory from the first leg proved enough to earn a 3-2 aggregate win. Endi
