Singapore stocks close 0.46 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 13. 29 points, or 0.46 percent, to close at 2,873.00.

A total of 2.33 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 54 billion Singapore dollars (1.1 billion U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 268 to 225, while 449 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 42.90 points, or 1.51 percent, to close at 2,886.29 on Tuesday. Endi
