China treasury bond futures open mixed Wednesday

Xinhua, August 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

China's five-year treasury bond futures opened mixed on Wednesday, with contract for settlement in September opening at 97.1 yuan (15.12 U.S. dollars), up 0.1 yuan.

The contract for settlement in December and in March 2016 both opened flat, at 98.6 yuan and 98.7 yuan respectively.

The contracts are agreements to buy or sell treasury bonds at a predetermined price and set date. They allow investors to bet on or profit from the movements in the value of the bonds.

The treasury bond futures were launched at the Shanghai-based China Financial Futures Exchange and started trading on Sept. 6, 2013. Endi
