Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam on Tuesday issued the Writ of Election for General Election 2015.

Nomination Day for the upcoming general election is on Sept. 1. Singaporeans will go to the ballot box on Sept. 11 to elect 89 members of parliament in 29 constituencies.

On the advice of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, President Tony Tan dissolved Singapore's 12th Parliament earlier on Tuesday.

According to a report by the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee in July, 29 electoral divisions have been recommended, comprising 13 Single Member Constituencies (SMCs) and 16 Group Representation Constituencies (GRCs), with a total of 89 members of parliament (MPs) to be returned, two more than the current batch of 87.
