Argentine Pareto wins in Judo World Championship

Argentine judoka Paula Pareto on Monday defeated two-time world champion for the women's 48kg crown at the 2015 Judo World Championship held in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan, local media reported.

Pareto, runner-up at 2015 Toronto Pan-American Games, beat Japanese Haruna asami by less penalties in the final.

En route to the final, she won the total five fights, winning over Vietnamese Ngoc Tu Van (waza-ari), Belgian Charline Van Snick (less penalties), Hungarian Eva Csernoviczki (ippon) and South Korean Bo Kyeong Jeong (yuko).

Third place was for Brazilian Nathalia Brigida, who won over Japanese Ami Kondo. Endi
