Global forum on youth and security kicks off in Jordan

Officials from across the world gathered at the UN Global Forum on Youth, Peace and Security which opened in Jordan on Friday.

More than 500 officials and youth representatives are taking part in the event that runs through Saturday.

Issues related to terrorism, youth empowerment, political and economic development as well as peacemaking will be discussed at the event which was opened by Crown Prince Hussein Ben Abdullah.

In his address, the Jordanian prince called for protecting youth from terrorist groups as afflicted by terrorist ideologies.

He added that countries should focus on inclusion of the youth in all aspects of life.

Jordan's Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh stressed on the importance of the forum, adding that all countries need to create jobs to the youth as part of fighting terrorism.

He added that all countries in the world should join efforts to fight terrorism. Endit
