Singapore stocks close 1.29 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 38.77 points, or 1.29 percent, to close at 2,971.01.

A total of 1.94 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 54 billion Singapore dollars (1.10 billion U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 368 to 129, while 442 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 31.47 points, or 1.03 percent, to close at 3, 009.78 on Thursday. Endi
