British netball club in talks with Uganda after World Cup performance

Xinhua, August 21, 2015 Adjust font size:

A British netball club is in talks with Uganda to take two of its star players after their performance at the recent World Cup in Sydney, Australia.

Susan Ongom, president of the Uganda Netball Federation (UNF), on Thursday told Xinhua that the club has approached the UNF with a possibility of signing two players of the national team.

"It is still early to reveal the club. But they are targeting Rachael Nanyonga and Ruth Meeme," she said.

Uganda finished eighth at the world event which ended on Sunday with hosts Australia outclassing New Zealand to win gold.

"Our performance was good and we have made several friends who now want to invite us for international build-up games and tournaments," Ongom said. Endi
