HCM City to host international badminton tourney

The International Badminton Championships - Yonex Sunrise Vietnam Open 2015 - will last from August 24-30 in Vietnam's HCM City, with the participation of 347 players from 23 countries and regions, organizers announced here Tuesday.

Among foreign players, those from the Czech Republic, New Zealand and Spain will compete at the annual tournament for the first time, the Ho Chi Minh City Badminton Federation said.

Vietnam pins biggest hope on Nguyen Tien Minh in the men's singles and Vu Thi Trang in the women's singles. Minh, ranked No. 34 in the world and four-time champion of the tournament, advanced to the semifinals last year. Endi
