S. Africa's Desmond Tutu back in hospital again due to inflammation

Xinhua, August 18, 2015 Adjust font size:

South Africa's Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu has again returned to hospital two weeks after being discharged, his daughter said on Tuesday.

Tutu, 83, is receiving treatment of inflammation in a Cape Town hospital, unlike last time when he was hospitalized for a "persistent infection", Reverend Canon Mpho Tutu said.

"My father was readmitted last night on advice of doctors," Mpho Tutu told reports, noting that "it is caution, not crisis."

Tutu has been in and out of hospital in the past month. He was first hospitalized in mid-July.

The admissions are said not to be linked to Tutu's treatment for prostate cancer. Endit
