Mexico ends fourth in Parapan American Games medal table

Mexico ended fourth in Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games final medal ranking with a total of 113 medals, while Brazil reached once again the leadership, local media reported Sunday.

At Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games, the multi-sport event held every four years after every Pan American Games for athletes with physical disabilities, Mexico dropped one place compared to the third place reached in Guadalajara 2011, when it won 165 medals (50 gold, 60 silver and 55 bronze) with a larger delegation.

Now, Mexico won 38 gold medals, 36 silver and 39 bronze to make a total of 113.

Brazil, the leader, won 257 medals from which 109 were gold, 74 silver and 74 bronze. In Guadalajara 2011, Brazilians also were leaders with a total of 197 medals (81-61-55).

Meanwhile, this year Canada ended second with a total ot 168 medals including 50 gold, 63 silver and 55 bronze followed by the United States in third place with a total of 135 (40-51-44). Endi
