Nigerian boxing coach predicts four gold medals in AAG

Nigeria's boxing coach Tony Konyegwachie has said the boxers for the 11th All Africa Games (AAG) will strive to win at least four gold medals.

Speaking in Lagos, Nigeria's commercial hub on Sunday, the coach told reporters that the 13-man boxing team was well prepared for the Games to be held in Congo Brazzaville from Sept. 4 to Sept. 19.

"We are ready for the Games. All hands are on deck presently and we are sure of coming back to the country with four gold medals," Konyegwachie added.

"Initially, we were expecting two foreign-based boxers, but one of them opted out and only one came for the trials and lost to Loveth Ekusu," the coach said.

"So, presently, we have three females and 10 men who will go to the AAG and win gold medals for us," he added.

Konyegwachie urged boxing lovers to continue to give their support and not to relent. Endit
