Teodosic becomes first European basketball player to represent Chinese Peak in Europe

Milos Teodosic, the captain of the Serbian national basketball team and one of the top European point guards, signed on Saturday a five-year contract with Peak, a well-known Chinese manufacturer of sports equipment.

The partnership deal was concluded in Belgrade between Teodosic and the Chairman of Peak Sport Xu Jingnan in the presence of Chinese ambassador to Serbia Li Manchang.

This way popular Teo, born in 1987, who currently plays for the Russian CSKA becomes the first European player to sign a partnership with Peak, the company which became a partner of the Serbian national basketball association since 2010.

After signing the five-year long contract, Teodosic expressed his satisfaction with becoming the first player to represent this Chinese brand in Europe.

"Peak just started developing in Europe and I hope that my games will contribute to their success," he said.

Xu said that Peak decided to cooperate with Serbia because it is an influential and world famous basketball team, while Teo, besides his popularity in Europe has a great image.

"I am a super fan of Teodosic. In 2010 Eurobasket and the 2014 World Cup I was there, and I was touched by his amazing performance and his personality," said Xu, explaining that they found the best player in Europe to promote their brand.

Xu stressed that Serbian team faced hard times at the beginning of their partnership 2010, but has since managed to win silver medal at the FIBA 2014 World Cup for men in 2014 and gold medal at Eurobasket for women in 2015, while the men's U20 team won gold at this year's European Championship.

Xu said that he hopes that Teodosic will make a good performance at the upcoming 39th Eurobasket that will be played from September 5 to 20, scheduled to take place in Germany, Croatia, Latvia and France.

In his professional career among many awards, Teodosic won twice the Greek cup and Russian League with Olympiacos and CSKA, was awarded as European player of the year in 2010, and selected to the All-Tournament team of the 2014 FIBA World Cup. Endit
