Suspicious backpack prompts blockade of railway station in southern Germany

Xinhua, August 15, 2015 Adjust font size:

A suspicious backpack prompted the railway station in the southern German city of Passau to be blocked on Friday afternoon, local media Bavarian Radio reported.

The railway station of Passau was temporarily blocked for around three hours after travelers had reported that there was a suspicious backpack in the lockers.

On the backpack there was a note saying "more surprises in the locker". As a result, federal police closed the station, according to media reports.

An explosive detection dog and a disarming commando were deployed to the scene. However, it turned out that there was no bomb in the suspicious backpack.

Police for criminal investigation in Passau then takes over and further investigates the issue. Endit
