Tokyo shares end lower

Tokyo shares ended the trading Friday lower on the yen's slight advance.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 76.10 points, or 0.37 percent, from Thursday at 20,519.45.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 3.49 points, or 0.21 percent, to 1, 664.46.

Decliners were led by iron and steel, mining, and oil and coal issues.

The turnover was about 2,404.3 billion yen (about 19.32 billion U.S. dollars). Endi
