Nearly 150 cyclists from 18 teams across Vietnam will participate in the 24th Mekong River Delta Cycling Tournament slated for kicking off here Friday.

Cyclists, including top ones such as Le Van Duan, Do Tuan Anh and Mai Nguyen Hung, will vie for the trophy in a 1,038km race through Mekong Delta provinces, the Vietnam Sports Bicycle and Motorbike Association said Thursday.

The race's final stage, the eight, will take place in Ben Tre Province on Aug. 20.

The tournament is organized by the association and Ben Tre's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Endi
