PSG captain: Di Maria to bring confidence

Xinhua, August 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva believes that Angel Di Maria's arrival will bring "more confidence to the team".

The Brazil defender has highlighted the threat posed by the midfielder's dynamic style during an interview with the club's official website.

"I think he will bring more confidence to the team and do what he can," said Silva.

Di Maria completed his 63-million-euro switch to the Ligue 1 champions last Thursday after a disappointing season at English Premier League's Manchester United.

Silva is confident the Argentina international will make a positive impact at the Parc des Princes and strengthen Laurent Blanc's already-formidable squad.

"This is a player who always manages to create danger. He does not hesitate to carry the ball. He has many qualities and will help us a lot. With him we are even stronger than last season," he said.

PSG, who swept all in the 2014-2015 season with titles of Ligue 1, the French Cup and the French League Cup, opened the defence of their league title last Friday with a battling 1-0 win at Lille. Endi
