Flowertime 2015 exhibition kicks off in Brussels

Xinhua, August 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

The opening ceremony of the 2nd edition of the Flowertime exhibition kicked off on Wednesday evening in the Belgian capital city of Brussels.

Some dozens of art works decorated by around 100, 000 flowers will be on display for four days, from August 13 to 16, in more than ten rooms of the City Hall.

In addition, some Italian gardens were transported "magically" onto the Grand Place at the heart of Brussels.

With the theme of Baroque Italy, the great biennial representation of floral and botanical art is expected to attract over 200, 000 visitors during the next four days.

A total of 25 Belgian floral artists contributed their representative works to this exhibition, whose total cost is more than 100, 000 euros, said the organizer Annette Katz.

The first edition of Flowertime was held in 2013 summer. Since then, the Brussels government has decided to organize the exhibition Flowertime if the Flower Carpet exhibition is not organized in the same year. Endit
