French stock market index down 3.40 pct

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 plunged 3.40 percent to close at 4,925.43 points on Wednesday, down 173.60 points.

The CAC 40 closed lower on Wednesday with 39 of the 40 selected companies experiencing decrease.

The only company whose stock gained advance on Wednesday was Technip, up 0.72 percent.

The three companies whose stocks plummetted most on Wednesday were LVMH, down 5.46 percent, L'Oreal, down 5.21 percent, and Airbus Group, down 5.18 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 dropped by 1.86 percent to close at 5,099.03 points, down 96.38 points. Endit
