Seeded Chinese players win in World Badminton Championships

Seeded players from China gained more victories in the world badminton championships currently held here on Wednesday.

However, part of them secured the victory after a long-lasted match against the opponents.

No. 6 seed Wang Yihan had to take her utmost to win the match against her Vitenamese contender Vu Thi Trang in almost one hour. She lost the second game but eventually managed to foil her opponent in the third game with scores of 21-18, 17-21 and 21-12.

Wang Yihan was scheduled to meet South Korean Bae Yeon Ju in the next round on Thursday.

Meanwhile, China's women's doubles pair Tian Qing/Zhao Yunlei, seeded number 5, easily marched forward after they trashed Thai contenders Jonkonpran Kittiharakul/Rawinda Prajongjai 21-12, 21-7 in 34 minutes.

Tian Qing/Zhao Yunlei will next take on Dutch players Eefje Muskens/Selena Piek on Thursday.

In men's doubles, No. 9 seeds Liu Xiaolong/Qiu Zihan of China prevailed in their match against Belgian players Matijs Derickx/Freek Galinski.
