No bacillus subtilis bacteria detected in flour in Albania after complaints

Analyses of some samples of flour in Albania resulted uninfected from the bacillus subtilis bacteria, Albanian head of the institution of food safety and veterinary Ardian Xinxo stressed on Monday.
After the complaints of citizens regarding the bread infection, called even as "potato disease" Albanian national food authority (NFA) asked the institution of food safety and veterinary to perform analyses to the samples of flour and bread.
"About 47 samples of flour taken from Durres, Elbasan, Fier and Gjirokastra were analyzed. The samples were taken from the flour that is imported from Italy and Turkey. Samples of bread and flour were analyzed and they resulted clean," Xinxo was quoted by Albanian daily news as saying.
"We can say that the health of citizens is not endangered and the results of the analyses were negative, no bacteria were found in the samples," Xinxo said.
He added that the analyses of other samples will continue in the next days regarding the quality of bread and flour.
NFA said careful inspections are being carried out from June 1 to the beginning of August of this year, the number of businesses inspected by the NFA reached 1,574 and the main focus was on the trade of meat and dairy products.
It also called on citizens to be cautious and not consume products in shops which suffer from limitation of energy supply. Endit
